Aramoho Community Gardens
In association with the Whanganui Regional primary Health Organisation, Wai Ora has begun the development of a community garden where the people from Aramoho can ' come and participate in growing Vegetables and sharing together in the produce that is grown. They will be supported to learn about growing vegetables and fruit and about sustainable land management. A part of the community garden is the making of compost for both our own use and home garden use. '
Private Whanau Gardens
Exercise Program
Wai Ora will develop and run a weekly exercise programme where the community - may come and participate in, and learn about healthy exercise. We currently have a programme running with our Alternative Education course and have a number of re- sources to support this. We will also introduce a walking programme for young moth ed and as a gentle fitness class for those with health or disability issues.
Healthy Activity
Wai Ora will assist those whanau who want to establish their own vegetable gardens at home. We will provide a kitset raised garden, compost and top soil for growing me dium, fertiliser and plans to begin with, Whanau may also purchase additional or re- placement seedlings and native plants using a green dollar system.
